When North Reading High reached out, they were rocking a mascot that—let’s be honest—was more “borrowed” than original (shoutout to that famous university who probably noticed). The hornet had seen better days, and the town’s athletes deserved something uniquely theirs—something bold, fierce, and unmistakably North Reading.

My mission? Take the tired, second-hand mascot and give it a proper glow-up. Using modern design trends, cleaner lines, and a deeper understanding of what makes a great sports identity, I crafted a new hornet that feels athletic, aggressive, and adaptable across sports—while still honoring the sting of the original.

This wasn’t just a facelift—it was a full evolution. The new design balances swagger and school spirit, looking just as sharp on a varsity jacket as it does charging down a football field. Because when it comes to branding, you shouldn’t be confused with someone else’s team.

Now North Reading’s got a hornet that doesn’t just buzz—it owns the hive.
